On our Heritage Collection Desert Safaris we serve authentic Arabic cuisine. Unlike other Desert Safari companies, we believe that one of the best ways for guests to discover a new country is through experiencing the cuisine. That’s why on the evening Desert Safaris we serve a 4-course dinner of local favourites like lamb ouzi, kibbeh, the popular Arabic doughnut luquimat and more. Throughout this dining experience our guests get to learn about the cultural significance of the dishes and try some unusual traditions like camel meat stew. On our morning Desert Safaris guests enjoy a traditional Emirati breakfast with local favourites like foul medames and Arabic bread.
The Platinum Collection is our range of premium Desert Safaris and the meals served on these experiences epitomise fine dining in the desert. On the Platinum Desert Safari our professional chefs prepare a six-course fine dining menu with highlights like Arabian Prawns and Grilled Salmon. The Platinum Collection Desert Safaris are for the more discerning guests who appreciate the finer things in life. The six-course dinner offers a culinary journey which makes dining in the desert under the stars truly magical. Breakfast on the Platinum Collection Desert Safaris are gourmet and served in exclusive settings. Whether you opt for the morning experiences with breakfast at the 5-star Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa or breakfast in one of our exclusive Platinum settings, you are in for a treat.
Vegetarian And Vegan Menu On Desert Safaris
Most of the starter dishes on the Heritage Desert Safari are vegetarian and we provide a main course alternative to the lamb ouzi and chicken kebabs. The Platinum Desert Safari à la carte menu includes a several choices for each course and features some vegetarian options too. Both the Heritage Desert Safaris and Platinum Desert Safaris also cater for vegans.
Our team of chefs have worked meticulously to create suitable menus for all of our Desert Safaris. Considering the remote desert location of our experiences, it is quite impressive what these chefs can create. All of our desert venues have kitchen and cooking facilities. At our Bedouin Heritage camps and Private Cabana Desert Oasis we also have barbecues built onsite.
Emirati Delicacies Tasting
During the summer months in Dubai (June-September) we add a complimentary Emirati delicacies tasting to our popular Desert Safaris. Guests get to discover some lesser known delicacies from the UAE like Arabian oysters and a variety of local cheese.
Ramadan is the holy month in the Islamic calendar and during this time, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. The fast is traditionally broken at sunset, often with two dates and a drink of water. After this is iftar which is normally a lavish buffet meal comprised of many delicious Arabic dishes. Iftar is one of the traditions observed during Ramadan and is often enjoyed with family and friends coming together to break their fast as a community. Every night during Ramadan, we serve a traditional iftar on our Heritage Desert Safaris; our guests learn about the traditions of Ramadan and try a variety of popular iftar dishes.
